SYNOPSIS

Things aren't what they seem when a pretty young woman invites a man back to her apartment for a drink. A short film made expressly for the "Pros and Con Games" shorts competition at www.Filmaka.com, based on the following prompt, posted in October 2008:

"Filmaka is giving you three minutes to tell your story of con games, con artists, swindles, schemes, suckers and sharps. Are you inspired by the late Paul Newman in films like The Hustler or The Sting? Who are your Usual Suspects? Let your characters come up with a clever idea - then roll the dice on their chances of pulling it off…[U]pload your 1 to 3 minute submission…All films are due by 24:00 hours on November 16. Don't let anyone convince you otherwise."

The Scam (Short Version) is finished and runs exactly 3 minutes, while The Scam (Full Version) will run 5 – 8 minutes and will be available in 2009. With less than a month to write, storyboard, rehearse, shoot, edit, export, and upload The Scam, the ILP team shot 100% of its interiors in one night. Estimated budget is two bottles of wine, $3.50 in props from a Halloween store, and gasoline.
